The Signing Express

Looks like the L.A. area is the place to be for book signings for the next week! Personally, I’m planning on dropping in at three of them. Here’s what’s on tape:

Thursday June 1st
7:30 p.m. THILLER: Things get started off with a bang as several of the contributors to the new Thriller Anthology from ITW and MIRA Books gather across the country doings several signings. (See schedule here for location of event nearest you.)

At Barnes & Noble on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, my local event, Denise Hamilton, Gregg Hurwitz, Gayle Lynds, Christopher Reich, and Christopher Rice will all be there signing copies of the book. I’m definitely going, and I’m dragging Phil Hawley with me…okay, not dragging. He wants to go. In fact, I’m making him drive.

Friday June 2nd
7:00 p.m. Barry Eisler will be signing copies of The Last Assassin at the Mystery Bookstore in Westwood. I’m going to this one, too!

7:30 p.m. More THILLER but this time at the Borders in West L.A. Almost identical cast to the one on Thursday.

Saturday June 3rd
5:00 p.m. Cornelia Read signs copies of Field Of Darkness at the Mystery Bookstore in Westwood. I’m hoping to at least stop in for a few minutes to pick up my copy and say hello in person to Ms. Read!

Sunday June 4th
4:30 p.m. Still More THILLER It’s a final stop for the thriller gang on this crazy weekend. This time at the very busy Mystery Bookstore. Bobby and gang are going to have to sleep for a week after all of this excitement!

Monday June 5th
1:00 p.m. Lee Child and Cornelia Read in a joint appearance at Mysteries to Die For in Thousand Oaks.

Lee Child is also going to make a drop in appearance at Mystery Bookstore. No time specified.

Wow…I’m just exhausted writing about all of it.

Don’t you wish you lived here? At least for a week?

Thanks for the mentions, Brett, and I'm looking forward to meeting you and the brood IRL!

Aw, damn. I am jealous. I was hoping to go to Seattle to see Cornelia before my schedule went all kerplewey, and now you get to see Eisler on my birthday?

That's not fair.

I'm going to go pout for a while.

Brett, what's with all these cute young women hanging around your blog? And married ones at that!

I used to sit outside my college dorm playing guitar for hours and hours, usually until some wise guy threw a bucket of water out the window.

My musical exploits never got me a single date (just wet).

Now, in the autumn of life, I've come to accept that some guys just got "it." Please know that the rest of us enjoy living vicariously through your exploits.

Phil

P.S. Cornelia looks too young to have written a book that's drawn such broad acclaim.

"In the autumn of life".

I think you're supposed to go with the terms seasoned, experienced, mature...

Not that I qualify, but if you had a blog, I'd be there. No bucket, either.

If only it were that easy, Phil. If only...

Brett Battles said...

Oh, and if anything, Phil. I'd say you were still in summer.

Brett, I am overwhelmingly jealous, and beg you tell a few of these amazing folks to come by Nashville sometime. I'll do my best to bring a little bit of Music City to them in June, but since I can't sing, dance, or share a bitchin BBQ recipe, I'm already behind the eight ball.
Saw THRILLER for the first time today. My God, it's a festivus.

Ha! I already got Cornelia and Lee and I get Barry next week. I told my kids he's an ex-spy guy. He says 'covert position' on his blog. What do I know? Maybe he was a covert accountant.

The Poisoned Pen is a nice place, but there's no parking at the Scottsdale store, so I may not manage it. The kids will be bummed.

MJ, no problem. My pleasure.

JT, no worries. Most will make it that way, I'm sure. Plus I know Barry and Lee, at least, will be at ThrillerFest. (Cornelia said she was going to Bouchercon...have you signed up for that yet? Sandra will be there, too. You should definitely go.)

M.G. Perhaps I should warn Barry off. I understand getting involved with any of the Bunions can be dicey...even for an ex-covert accountant.

And as always, Sandra, Cornelia and Phil, glad you stopped by.

Wahoo, it's like having permission to be a little brat on your blog!

B-con isn't in the cards this year, unfortunately. ThrillerFest is it for me. I'm hoping for Left Coast Crime in Feb, though, and I'll certainly do T fest and B-Con next year. I figure I'll get more bang for the buck next year too, since the book will be out three weeks after the BCon conference. Plus Alaska is so damn gorgeous!

Sandra Ruttan said...

Oooooh, no JT at B'Con?

Damn.

But I'm thinking LCC next Feb. too. And definitely Alaska.

Brett Battles said...

We'll miss you in Madison, J.T. I'm definitely planning on going to Alaska next year. That'll be my first time.

Hadn't thought about Left Coast Crime yet....hmmm...

JT Ellison said...

Yeah, we need panels.

JT Ellison said...

And fewer power suges. What I was saying...
We need panels for LCC and next years BCon. Brett's already got one a T-Fest. I'll be in the audience making faces.

Brett,

Maybe I will catch up with at a few of these events too!

Aldo

Brett Battles said...

That'd be great, Aldo. I'll keep my eye out for you

Sandra Ruttan said...

It would likely be possible for us to all do a panel together at LCC! We could definitely ask! Maybe JB would come and moderate, LOL!

I don't know if I'm doing a panel at B'Con or not, but it is a possibility.

Brett Battles said...

Now you're really temping me to got to LCC...hmmm...a panel, together? That would be fun!

Brett Battles said...

got=go...ugh...

JT Ellison said...

Count me in. I'm allf or it. And JB is an excellent moderator!

Sandra Ruttan said...

You think JB could handle the three of us?

I kind of want to start a triplets blog with all four of us. Does that make sense?

It's so lonely, blogging on my own...
